# Wrist Flexor and Extensor Stretch | FREE 4K Videos | 321 STRONG

> Typing and mouse work keep the wrist flexors and extensors in constant low level contraction for hours every day. Over time, this sustained use creates chronic forearm tightness, wrist discomfort, and the repetitive strain symptoms that desk workers know all too well. Stretching both the flexors and extensors maintains the muscular balance that continuous keyboard use disrupts.

## About This Video
Typing and mouse work keep the wrist flexors and extensors in constant low level contraction for hours every day. Over time, this sustained use creates chronic forearm tightness, wrist discomfort, and the repetitive strain symptoms that desk workers know all too well. Stretching both the flexors and extensors maintains the muscular balance that continuous keyboard use disrupts.

### How to Perform This Technique
1 Sit in a comfortable position with a nice neutral spine and relaxed shoulders.

2 Flex your arm forward and pull your fingers up — keep your palm nice and flat, facing away from you. This is the extensor stretch.

3 Flip the wrist down for the flexor stretch and also pull towards you to deepen the stretch.

4 You should not be straining or pulling very hard — just some gentle pressure to deepen the stretch into the forearm and wrist.

5 Staying nice and tall, roll your hands out before repeating on the other side.

6 Give your fingers a nice gentle pull backward as your fingers remain extended — everything controlled and gentle but with a little firmness.

7 Keep wrists at about shoulder height wherever your arms feel comfortable.

8 Sit nice and tall, maintain a steady deep breath as you hold into this stretch.

9 Roll your wrists out when done.

### Benefits
Restores balance between the wrist flexors and extensors (the forearm muscles) that hours of keyboard and mouse work pull out of alignment Relieves the forearm tightness and wrist discomfort that build up from sustained typing — the repetitive strain that desk workers feel by end of day Leaves your hands and forearms feeling loose, light, and ready — the refreshed-grip feeling that makes the next session at the keyboard easier Pro Tip: Watch this video in conjunction with our product guide for the best results.
